Participants of the nature-based coaching training in Coburg in dialogue
After we had already completed the first four practical days together in the proverbial "golden" autumn of 2022, the autumn group of the nature-based coaching training went out into the Franconian spring sun at the beginning of May 2023. After a six-month break, what had been learned could now be repeated in depth and tested in practice in selected sections.

A short interview
This time Kerstin Henning from the Lake Constance region and Dr. Dorothee Schweda from the Ruhr area, who in turn put their heart and soul into their work. I would like to give both of them a chance to speak for themselves and simply ask them about their impressions.
Dorothee:
I cannot name a single event that prompted me to do the nature coaching training. Rather, for personal / private reasons, I have been dealing with coaching and personality development for years and have experienced and felt so many positive things for me that I increasingly felt the need to pass on these insights. At the same time, I am increasingly attracted to nature. I like to hike and have experienced and clarified a lot for myself in and with nature. And when I discovered that this combination of training existed, the decision was made for me.
Kerstin:
A coaching education had been in my focus for a few years and then I read an article about nature coaching. From then on it was clear to me, if coaching, then nature coaching. With my affinity for nature and the self-awareness during the hot corona phase, when the trips to the forest got me through this time unscathed, the conviction manifested itself in me that nature carries the space, help, answers and much more and for is accessible to us at any time.
Kerstin:
Personality development, which is what nature coaching training is, already involves movement, otherwise it would not be development, plus physical movement in the forest. But the inner movement that you are aiming for has of course taken place. On the one hand through the exercises you have carried out yourself and the knowledge gained, as well as through your own sensitivity to topics, emotions and patterns. A different look at your own life lets many questions pop up in you and many answers can be found in and with nature. I am grateful to you for this access.
Dorothee:
Of course, the "practice" also moved me a lot. Since we didn't go into the exercises with fictitious concerns, but with authentic topics, this is certainly inevitable. In addition, the practical days are very intensive and by getting involved with them during this time, I was also able to take a lot with me and move things forward.
Dorothee:
It's still difficult for me to clearly state my goals in terms of nature coaching. It's good that I'm asked to think about it as part of my thesis.
My vision is to bring children and young people on a "good path" in and with nature. I would like to give you the opportunity to find yourself and your personal path, to see, to feel your power and I would be happy to give you some confidence for your life path.
Kerstin:
The journey will go into the forest and I will accompany my coachees from the little plant to the established tree. Through the willingness of the coachees, with my newly learned tools and with the wonder of nature, I will bring my coachees to their strength, their size, their path and their self-determination. I am looking forward.
Thank you and all the best for the future.
